NO COST EYE EXAMS and CLASSES Eye on Education Program will be at Brooklyn Tech on Monday, September 28th to facilitate no cost eye exams and provide no cost glasses! Do you need an eye exam and new glasses? The Eyes on Education program will have doctors here on Monday,

September 28th, to conduct no cost eye exams. You will then get to pick out your new frames!! Glasses will be delivered to school a few weeks later for you to pick up.

If you are interested, you must sign up at the link/QR code on the flyer/below in order to be seen by a doctor.

On September 28th, come down to BS12 on your lunch, free period, or another class between periods 2 and 6. We will let teachers know about this event and provide a pass for you to return to class if you do not have lunch or a free between periods 2 and 6.

Senior College Night will be hosted this Monday, 9/14/26 at 5 PM. Attendance to this event is Mandatory for all seniors!

Topics include: College Application Process specific to Tech, due dates, FAFSA, Overgrad and more.

Anyone interested in trying out for the Girls Softball team, we will be hosting a team interest meeting on Tuesday, September 15th in room 3W18 after 10th period (3:35PM).

Students interested in trying out for JV Girls’ Volleyball need to complete and submit a medical form and parent/guardian consent form to Coach Whitman in person (originals- no copies).

To note:

• Students must *clearly* print their NYC schools email address on their parent/guardian consent form. This is how you will be notified about tryouts.
• You must include all required initials on your parent/guardian consent form.
• All dates must be included on all forms

To note:

• Students interested in trying out for JV Volleyball are expected to have beginner to intermediate experience playing the sport.
• Students who are new to volleyball might want to consider joining a club team first or taking a class.
• Positions will be based on international 4-2 with 2 setters, 2 middles, and 2 outsides on the court at all times. JV at Tech does not utilize a libero or Defensive Specialist (DS) .
• Students will be expected to try out for 1-2 positions that they specialize in. You must know your position before you try out.
• Students who make the team should be expected to practice 3-4 times per week until 530pm Monday-Thursday before the season starts. After the season starts, we usually play two games per week with 1-2 additional practices per week. Games are often at other schools so anticipate some long days/early evenings.

JV Girls Volleyball Manager Recruitment 2026

The Brooklyn Tech Women’s Junior Varsity Volleyball team is seeking team managers for the Fall 2026 season. Managers are essential for a successful season for our players.

Managers must have some knowledge/experience in volleyball to participate.

Roles and responsibilities for managers:

• Season is roughly from Sepetmber-Mid-November
• Attend all tryouts, practices and games (home+away)
• *Pre-season practices are 3x per week, during season is 2-3x per week with 1 practice and 2 matches per week
• Track and care for all team equipment
• Set-up and take down of net and storage of balls
• Serve as a liaison between players and coach
• Participate in facilitating team drills
• Various roles as assigned: training/development (collaborating with team/coach on weekly drills), score keeping, reffing matches, fitness (warm up and cool down), team morale (socials, icebreakers, etc.)
• Managers will receive volunteer hours for their participation that can be included on resumes and college applications

If interested, please directly email Coach Whitman at [email protected] so you may be considered for a follow-up meeting to see if it is a good fit for you. In your email, make sure to introduce yourself, explain why you are seeking the position, what you hope to gain and learn, what you hope to offer the team, and your relevant/related skills and experiences.

ATTENTION ALL CAFE CLUBS AND TEAMS REMEMBER TO RETURN TRASH CANS, RECYCLING BINS, AND SIGNS TO THEIR CORRECT, ORIGINAL POSITION AFTER YOUR MEETING OR EVENT! SUSTAINABILITY ADVISOR [email protected] UTILIZE THESE WASTE SORTING INFORMATION BOARDS, LOCATED AROUND THE CAFETERIA, TO HELP YOU REASSEMBLE THE WASTE SORTING STATIONS.

TECH COMMUNITY:

Starting now, there will be a new policy regarding clubs, teams and ALL events that use the cafeteria.

At the end of all events in the cafe, all bins and signs must be moved back to their correct position, which are illustrated on the plastic bulletin boards around the cafeteria. You are only required to move back the bins and signs that are in their event space. Essentially, please leave the signs and bins how you found them so that the cafeteria staff don't have to move them back everyday.

This new policy is part of the SGO's initiative to improve recycling and composting in the cafeteria.

Museum of the Moving Image’s Teen Council is a job development program for NYC teens interested in the media arts who want a behind-the-scenes look at how a media museum works. As a part of the Teen Digital Media Innovators program, Teen Council members curate and program public events for youth, including film festivals, media workshops, and more.

This paid opportunity includes mentorship from museum media educators, filmmakers, actors, and museum programmers. MoMI’s Teen Council was created in 2015 as a workforce development initiative for youth that increases the presence of teen voices in the Museum’s programming and education offerings.

We have several Lost-and-Found collection sites placed around the school.

The first Lost and Found collection site is next to room Bw5. This site is for lost clothing, backpacks, and other miscellaneous items.

The second collection site is BW6, which is for electronic devices, wallets, and other valuable items that may need to be locked up for safekeeping.

The third collection is site is in BW2, which is for lost school IDs and keys. Finally, there is a Lost-and-Found in the center section of the 7th floor cafeteria and another Lost-and-Found in the auditorium.
