Message from the PA Presidents
Dear Brooklyn Tech Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to everyone who’s been able to join us for a breakfast or dinner with Mr. Newman. These events are a chance to meet our principal, connect with other parents, ask questions, and have real conversations about your child’s education, while sharing a meal. Just a quick reminder: this event only happens during the fall semester, so if you haven’t signed up yet, please register as soon as you can.
Our next General PA Meeting will be October 15, 2026 at 6:00 PM in the BTHS Library. We’ll be electing up to five Freshmen Parent Reps to join the PA Executive Board. If you’re a freshman parent and you’re interested in running, you’ll need to complete a Nomination Form by Wednesday, October 14 at 5:00 PM. Nominations won’t be taken from the floor. Ms. Lourdes Cuesta, Assistant Principal, College Services/Advisory, and Mr. Jan-Kristòf Louis-Mansano, Assistant Principal of Guidance, will also share updates and speak.
Lastly, we invite all BTHS students to participate in our annual Lunar New Year T-Shirt Design Competition. The winning design will be used for commemorative T-shirts for the Year of the Goat, and the winner will receive two free admission tickets to the 10th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration. Please follow the submission details below for the best results. All entries must be submitted to [email protected] no later than October 23, 2026.
Thank you for everything you do for our students and our school community!
Sincerely,
Nadege Joseph & Theresa Pang Law

Our suggested amount for your gift is $750 per student. We recognize that $750 may be an easy gift for some, a stretch for many, and a real economic hardship for others. We ask that each family give whatever they are able to. Any amount counts, and every donation matters! We greatly appreciate your gift and your participation is truly important.

Supporting Student Wellness at Brooklyn Tech
Brooklyn Tech is a rigorous and demanding school, and helping students develop healthy ways to manage stress is an important part of supporting their overall success.
This year, Brooklyn Tech is partnering with Whole School Mindfulness on a new student wellness initiative. As part of Health classes, teachers will introduce brief 1–3 minute activities designed to help students manage stress, refocus, and develop practical coping strategies they can use throughout the school day.
Our school social worker, who will also serve as Brooklyn Tech’s Mindfulness Director, has created DonorsChoose projects to provide Health classrooms with simple stress-management and wellness tools, including stress balls, breathing tools, and other resources.
These activities and materials are intended to complement Health instruction and existing student support services, while giving students additional strategies for managing the pressures of a demanding school environment.
With approximately 1,500 students taking Health classes, your support can help make these resources available to more Tech students.
