Message from the PA Presidents
Dear Brooklyn Tech Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to everyone who came out for our first General PA Meeting of the school year. We were thrilled to see such a great turnout and so many parents and guardians connecting, asking questions, and getting involved.
A big thank-you as well to our parent and student volunteers, who helped keep everything running smoothly, and to everyone who stopped by our merchandise tables. Your purchases and donations directly support PA-funded programs and initiatives that benefit our students throughout the year.
PA Fall Election - Nomination Form
We’re looking for five Freshman Parent Representatives to join the Tech PA Executive Board.
Freshman Parent Reps have an opportunity to get involved with the PA, connect with other families, and learn more about our school community. Each representative will also actively participate in at least one PA committee (Fundraising, Communications, Events, or Diversity) and gain experience that will prepare them for future PA leadership roles.
Interested in joining us? Please complete the Freshman Parent Representative Nomination Form by Wednesday, October 14 at 5:00 PM.

Breakfast & Dinner with Principal Newman - Sign Up Now
Don’t forget to sign up for Breakfast or Dinner with Principal Newman. These gatherings are a great opportunity for parents and guardians to hear directly from Principal Newman, ask questions, and connect in a smaller setting. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to register soon.
And there’s plenty more happening at Tech. Keep reading for upcoming events, important dates, PA updates, and ways to get involved.
Sincerely,
Nadege Joseph & Theresa Pang Law

Our suggested amount for your gift is $750 per student. We recognize that $750 may be an easy gift for some, a stretch for many, and a real economic hardship for others. We ask that each family give whatever they are able to. Any amount counts, and every donation matters! We greatly appreciate your gift and your participation is truly important.
Matching Gifts: Another way to increase your donation to our PA is through your company’s Matching Gift program. Please contact your Human Resource department to see if your company offers matching gifts.

Register to attend Freshman Fall Fest 2026
We welcome you to our Fall Fest - freshman parent information night. Enjoy some fall treats as we discuss the school year and how to navigate the impact of the middle-to-high school transition on academics, SEL, and mental health. This is a great opportunity to learn about available school resources; ask any questions you may have and learn how we can work together to support your student's success.
Supporting Student Wellness at Brooklyn Tech
Brooklyn Tech is a rigorous and demanding school, and helping students develop healthy ways to manage stress is an important part of supporting their overall success.
This year, Brooklyn Tech is partnering with Whole School Mindfulness on a new student wellness initiative. As part of Health classes, teachers will introduce brief 1–3 minute activities designed to help students manage stress, refocus, and develop practical coping strategies they can use throughout the school day.
Our school social worker, who will also serve as Brooklyn Tech’s Mindfulness Director, has created DonorsChoose projects to provide Health classrooms with simple stress-management and wellness tools, including stress balls, breathing tools, and other resources.
These activities and materials are intended to complement Health instruction and existing student support services, while giving students additional strategies for managing the pressures of a demanding school environment.
With approximately 1,500 students taking Health classes, your support can help make these resources available to more Tech students.
